School Breakfast Program (SBP) – a federally-funded meal program that provides reimbursement to states to operate breakfast programs in schools and residential childcare institutions.
National School Lunch Program (NSLP) – a federally-funded meal program operating in public and nonprofit private schools and residential child care institutions. It provides nutritionally balanced lunches to children each school day.
Child and Adult Care Food Program At-Risk Afterschool Meals (CACFP) – serves afterschool meals and snacks in areas where at least 50% of students qualify for free and reduced school meals.
Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) – serves summer meals and snacks in areas where at least 50% of students qualify for free and reduced school meals.
Seamless Summer Option (SSO) – serves meals during summer or school vacations.
Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) – a grocery benefit that covers the cost of school meals when a student eligible for free and reduced price meals misses school due to COVID closures or absences.
Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) – allows schools in high-poverty areas to serve universal free breakfast and lunch. Schools are CEP-eligible if their identified student percentage (ISP), the percentage of students directly certified for free meals, is at least 40%.
Special Provision 2 (Prov 2) – Special Provision 2 is a four-year program that allows any school to serve universal free breakfast and lunch for 3 years while only collecting school meal benefit applications for the first year.
