The 2020 Summer Meals Emergency Fund will provide financial support to sponsors operating Summer Food Service Programs to assist with direct expenses related to providing meals to children in their community. This summer, the fund will focus heavily on providing emergency funding for costs associated with operating meal service during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Grants range from
$500-$8000
For the following:
- Food costs associated with providing higher quality, more kid-friendly meals with an emphasis on fresh fruits and vegetables
- Packaging costs needed to provide food safe meals
- Equipment costs needed for the safe storage and distribution of meals, either on-site or via delivery, and bulk meals
- Transportation costs associated with delivering meals to multiple locations or directly to children's homes
- Increased staffing and labor costs
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) costs to ensure safety of staff and safe production, handling, and distribution of meals
- Outreach costs for enhanced marketing and advertising to eligible families
- Enrichment costs for providing activities to children on-site or at home

16 County Competition
The 16 County Competition runs from mid June to late August (no sign-up required). The Summer Food Service Program in each county that has the biggest summer over summer increase in participation wins a $500 award.
