Pandemic grocery benefits are coming!
Pandemic EBT (P-EBT) is a grocery benefit that covers the cost of school meals when your child misses school due to COVID closures or absences.
Maine students who are eligible for free and reduced school meals and who missed school due to COVID during the 2021-2022 school year were issued P-EBT benefits on their family’s SNAP card or their own P-EBT card. Here’s what the card will look like:
Children that were under age 6 on September 1, 2021 were issued P-EBT benefits for any month they were receiving SNAP benefits during the 2021-2022 school year. Those benefits were issued on September 6, 2022 onto their household’s SNAP card.
The first round of school year 2021-2022 benefits were issued at the end of June 2022 for August 1, 2021 through November 30th, 2021. Additional benefits were issued in August and September of 2022.
